Dr Dres Detox Could Land Late 2008
Posted on July 23, 2008
Dr. Dre's long awaited Detox album has been in the pipeline for years now, and many remain sceptical that the album will ever be released. Dr. Dre has recently surfaced from his studio to promote his new headphone range, yet the Detox release question was at the forefront of most discussions. As Dre spoke with USA Today, he revealed that the earliest possible release date would be late this year.
"I'm just now -- over the last couple of months -- starting to feel that it's going to be right and it's something I can be proud of, and everybody is going to love it," he said. "In a perfect world, I'm shooting for a November or December release."
Dr Dre is a perfectionist and does not drop an album, until he is 100% confident and satisfied with it, which goes for his own solo projects and also production based albums for other mainstream rappers. Detox will be Dre's first release since The Chronic 2001.
"I've never set out to do that," he says. "I just make the music feel the way I want it to feel and I don't put it out until I'm totally happy with it. Then it does what it does."
Dre plans to release Detox, and then return back to the studio and produce for other artists.
"I'm going to put this record out, promote it, tour and then become a hermit. I'm going to stay in the studio and produce."
