Fat Joe Signs With Virgin Records
Posted on September 3, 2006
Fat Joe has left Atlantic Records and completed the switch to Virgin Records, which will begin with the launch of his new album, Me, Myself & I. The release will be partnered with Imperial Records, a new urban label despite Joe's previous statement implying the album would be released through his own record label.
Me, Myself and I will feature guest contributions from Lil' Wayne and The Game, while production contributions come from the likes of Scott Storch, DJ Khaled and the Runners.
Fat Joe is looking to improve on his previous album "All Or Nothing" which was viewed as a failure. Joe is expecting the label switch to improve sales and allow him to set things up in his own manner.
"No hard feelings, but they weren't feeling what I was asking for," Joe commented on Atlantic, according to Billboard.com. "I've always been an artist to them, and they didn't understand me asking for my own imprint. But one man's trash is another man's treasure."
Me, Myself & I is expected for release November 14.
