Foxy Brown maintains innocence
Posted on August 6, 2005
Foxy Brown has rejected a second plea deal on 5th August that would have prevented her from a jail sentence on assault charges. Foxy Brown, real name Inga Marchand, has rejected this deal in an effort to maintain her innocence in the whole situation.
According to prosecutors, the deal, offered by the Manhattan district attorney's office, called for Brown to serve only 10 days of community service for attempted assault and harassment of two nail technicians last August.
The Brooklyn rapper is accused of aggressive behaviour towards two employees after an argument over payment for a manicure.
Brown had previously rejected a prior plea deal in May.
?She didn't commit any misdemeanor,? her lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, told the Associated Press. ?That's the bottom line.?
Negotiations with the district attorney are expected to continue, and a resolution before the trial is not out of the question, according to Tacopina.
Brown is expected to return to court on 22nd September.
