Half Of Mobb Deep Prepare Solo Project Album
Posted on August 9, 2007
One half of infamous rap group Mobb Deep, New York MC and producer Havoc is now taking the solo route for a new release on Nature Sounds Records. The album, entitled The Kush, is scheduled to hit stores on September 18th, and is produced in full by Havoc.
As Mobb Deep, Havoc and partner Prodigy quickly built themselves a reputation as one of rap’s biggest duos, releasing seven albums in the past 14 years and selling over four million records in the U.S. alone. Titles such as The Infamous, Hell on Earth, Murder Musik, Infamy, and Blood Money have become hip hop classics. Havoc also made a name for himself as an in-demand producer for artists including Notorious B.I.G, Nas, Method Man, 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Mariah Carey, Lil' Kim, and more.
"I was always ready (to drop a solo-album)," Havoc comments. "But the reason why it took me so long is because the timing wasn't right. I was always working on Mobb Deep material and working with other artists and I used allot of the material I was going to use for a solo-LP for Mobb Deep records."
