Missy Elliott tears achilles tendon

Missy Elliott has recentlly injured her achilles tendon whilst rehearsing in LA for the TV Guide Emmy party that was scheduled to be held five days later.

Following a successful operation, Missy was forced to cancel a few appearances in order to give her time to recover from the pain and also from the surgery procedure.

Missy was taken care of by a private hospital on Manhattan's East Side, where the damage was aided and finally successfull after a 2 and a half hour procedure.

Missy stated that she was in extensive pain but was happy that the surgery went smoothly without complications and thanked everyone for their concern.

The female rap star is expected to rest for 6 to 12 months depending on recovery rate although she remains determined to make her appearance on October 8th at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, where she will try to keep her fans happy, performing at the Miller Genuine Draft "Flavor to Savor" grand finale.
